Go Kinsgton Volunteering Team
Are you looking for a volunteering opportunity with a difference? Can't give a regular time commitment but would like to get involved when you can?
Why not join the Go Kingston Volunteering Team (GKV) which will give you the opportunity to get involved in special events taking place in Kingston as part of next year's Cultural Olympiad.
Events being planned around the borough for 2012 include many established favourites such as the River Festival, Dragon Boat Challenge, Kingston International Youth Arts Festival and the Kingston Carnival. Find out more about the borough's involvement in the Cultural Olympiad.
Volunteering with GKV will give you the opportunity to build on current skills and experiences whilst developing new ones. It will give you experience in a wide arrange of exciting and fun environments and activities. You can choose to volunteer within an area that you're familiar with or experience something for the first time.
There is no time commitment; you simply volunteer just for the events that appeal to you. This opportunity is open to people aged 16 and above only.

Over a hundred people have already signed up to join the Go Kingston Volunteering Team, but we are aiming for twice that number. Joining is easy and will only take a few minutes. There are several ways that you can join – the fastest way is to complete the online application form.

How do I get involved in events?
Once you register, we will regularly send you an e-newsletter with all the events and volunteering opportunities available.
If you see anything that you would like to get involved in, simply register your interest. by email. You only need register for events that interest you and there is no minimum requirement.
Your name and contact details will be added to a list that is sent to event organisers and in the run up to the event, you will be contacted with more information about the volunteer role and any induction meetings you need to attend before starting.
Are there any costs involved?
Volunteering will not cost you anything.
