Potential volunteers flocked to the Go Kingston Roadshow on Thursday, 8th March at the Kingston University Sports Pavillion in Tolworth.
Representatives from 18 events and organisations around Kingston had the chance to speak to the 80+ assembled volunteers, and persuade them to offer time to their project. Events like the Dragon Boat Race and the Kingston Aviation Project rely on volunteers to ensure they happen, so this was a valuable opportunity to sign up new recruits. The take up rates were very impressive.
The biggest draws were the Olympic events - the cycling races and the torch relay - which will both come through the borough, but still more volutneers are needed to make these events go off with a bang.
It's not too late to sign up. For more information visit our Go Kingston page.
